About Us

North Shore Pharmacy and Health Emporium is located in Kilauea, on the Island of Kauai. Owners, Mike and Sheree Latif, who are both Registered Pharmacists, built and opened the store in 1988. They created a store that reflects their personal beliefs and lifestyle. The focus is on providing comprehensive healthcare options. Along with a traditional dispensing/compounding Pharmacy they provide over-the-counter items, herbs, vitamins, homeopathic, Ayurvedic, Chinese medicinals, aromatherapy products, teas and tinctures. To provide information to patients an Herbalist and Ayurvedic practitioner are available. We also supply lifestyle enhancing products such as health foods, educational and exercise DVD’s, educational gifts, incense, books, yoga mats and other exercise tools. We are dedicated to providing an integrative approach to health care with the overall well-being of our patients as our main objective.

Mike Latif, R.Ph.

Mike graduated from Wayne State University Pharmacy School, in 1981. He moved to Kauai in 1988, and together with his wife Sheree started North Shore Pharmacy and Health Emporium. To further his education he has taken courses and attended many seminars in endocrinology, hormone replacement, pain management, compounding techniques, cosmeceutical and aseptic compounding. In an ever changing health care field, Mike relishes evolving and reinventing himself and his organization. He loves working in a pharmacy where he can provide an integrative and individualized approach to each patient's health. Some of his current professional memberships include the International Academy of Compounding Pharmacists (IACP), American College of Apothecaries and he is currently pursuing a Fellowship in Anti-Aging and Regenerative Medicine from the American Academy of Anti-Aging. In his spare time, Mike plays music, and enjoys Kauai's outdoor lifestyle including tennis, hiking, and getting in the ocean.

Sheree Latif, R.Ph.

Sheree received her Pharmacy degree from Wayne State University, as did her father, who was also a Pharmacist. She has been a practicing Pharmacist for over 33 years. She began her career as a hospital and private consultant Pharmacist and later became the “Director of Pharmacy”, for a 200-bed Intermediate Care Hospital, in Michigan. When she moved to Kauai, in 1988, she wanted to open a neighborhood Pharmacy, just like her father’s. Her dream was realized when she and her husband, Mike, created “North Shore Pharmacy and Health Emporium”. Once on Kauai Sheree began pursuing her other passion, watercolor painting, which has become a second career. Painting allows her to express her deep appreciation for the natural beauty of Kauai.
