Compounding

Compounding is an ageless fundamental process that allows specially trained professionals to create a unique pharmaceutical or nutritional product to fit an individual patients needs. Compounding may be necessary for numerous reasons including; changing dosage forms i.e. from solid pills to liquid, removing unnecessary additives, avoiding ingredients patients are allergic to, supplying a customized dosage to meet a particular patients needs, adding flavoring, and many many more.

The demand for compounding pharmacies has grown as healthcare providers and patients realized that the limited number of strengths and dosage forms of commercially available products do not meet the needs of many patients. Patients are less likely to experience side effects when there prescriptions are tailored to their specific needs. Healthcare practitioners can more easily fine-tune or modify doses and use dosage forms that will increase patient compliance.

Our professional staff can prepare:

  • Unique doses of available products
  • Specialty dosage forms (transdermal gels, sublingual lozenges, liquids, capsules, suppositories, and more)
  • Medications free of problem causing additives (i.e. dyes, sugar, lactose, corn, gluten, alcohol, preservatives, etc.)
  • Combination of multiple compatible medications into a single dosage
  • Medications that are not commercially available
