Pain Management

Pain is one of the most difficult “diseases” to treat with modern medicine. Uncontrolled pain prevents patients from working, enjoying their daily lifestyles, and can even leave some patients completely debilitated. As a compounding pharmacy we combine many different agents with different mechanisms for treating pain and create topical and transdermal pain creams and gels.

The various agents we utilize can help alter the sensation of pain, decrease inflammation, and even block certain types of pain transmission. Compounded topical pain formulations allow us to target specific pain sites rather than taking pain pills which are dispersed throughout the entire body. Topical formulations offer the advantage of local, enhanced delivery to painful sites with reduced incidence of systemic adverse effects.

We create many different pain transdermal gels and creams that treat various types of pain. Our various topical formulations can be used for neuropathic pain to muscle spasms to back pain to arthritis to shingles to migraines. We can work closely with any physician developing pain formulations to serve individual patients needs.

Insurance Information

North Shore Pharmacy has contracts with numerous insurance plans that cover compounded medications.  Patients who do have a plan that we are contracted with will only be responsible for their copays. Drop off your prescription with us and we will research your insurance coverage for you.  Please do not hesitate to call us at (808)-828-1844 and we will assist you with insurance coverage and/or pricing for your specific compounded medications.
