North Shore Pharmacy Drug Take Back Program

Dr Alex Latif PharmD, ABAAHP's picture

Northshore Pharmacy will be initiating a trial program for collecting expired and unwanted prescription and non-prescription medications. Please bring any medications you would like to dispose of to our Kilauea store, during our hours of operation. Let’s work together to keep Kaua’i safe and clean.

Reasons to Safely Dispose of Your Medication:

  1. Prevents accidental poisoning of people and animals (poison control hotline 1-800-222-1222)
  2. Prevents intentional use of medication by people other than the patient.
  3. Prevents confusion and use of a discontinued medication. Only keep those medications that you are currently prescribed.
  4. Promotes protection of our environment by keeping our water clean of drug seepage from landfills and toilets. There are many reports of hormones, anti-convulsants, mood stabilizers and other medications that are now being found in our drinking water due to disposal of medications in toilets and garbage.

Thank you for helping us keep our Island Safe and Clean.
